Energy Audit is an Important Starting Point for Efficient Energy Usage. That’s the topic of the international workshop on energy audit held on August 2nd – 3rd, 2010 at the Faculty of Engineering of Diponegoro University, Semarang – Indonesia.

This workshop was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering of Diponegoro University in collaboration with Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e), Holland, The Indonesian Ministry of Energy, Resources, and Minerals (Kementerian ESDM), and the CASINDO.

After completion of the workshop, the participants will:

- Have a deeper understanding of the concept of energy audit;

- Have a better planning and managing how to use the energy for a long term periods;

- Have ability to audit and estimate the need of energy on their office, laboratory, or unit, and;

- Be able to develop the research or collect data corresponding to audit energy based on their major.

Those are the objectives of the workshop.

This workshop, which focused on auditing a small-to-medium size industry or public offices to identify problems areas and finding cost effective solutions, was designed for academia, governments, NGO, and industries. Approximately 60 participants attended this workshop.

Keynote Speaker from TU/e, Holland was Patrick Van Schindler, and the other speakers included Mr. JJ Luthan from Trisakti University, Jakarta – Indonesia. In principle, this workshop run smoothly, and most of participants gave their respects for the organization of this workshop.
